ಸಂತುಷ್ಯತ್ಯುತ್ತಮಃ ಸ್ತುತ್ಯಾ ಧನೇನ ಮಹತಾಧಮಃ |
ಪ್ರಸೀದಂತಿ ಜಪೈರ್ದೇವಾ ಬಲಿಭಿರ್ಭೂತವಿಗ್ರಹಾಃ ||
Santuṣyatyuttamaḥ stutyā dhanēna mahatādhamaḥ | prasīdanti japairdēvā balibhirbhūtavigrahāḥ ||
ದೃಷ್ಟಾಂತಕಲಿಕಾ | Dr̥ṣṭāntakalikā
ಉತ್ತಮನಾದವನು ಸ್ತುತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಸಂತುಷ್ಟನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅಧಮನು ಬಹಳ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಜಪಗಳಿಂದ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನರಾದರೆ, ಬಲಿಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಭೂತಗಳು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ.

The good man is pleased with his praise. A Lustful man is satisfied only if he gets a lot of money. Gods will be appeased with Japaa’s but Demons are only appeased if they are sacrificed with the lives.
