What is Ksheera Vriskha?

Sacred Plant resources containing milky secretion or exudation are called Ksheeree Vruksha (milky tree).

Various parts of the plant like tender leaves, fully grown leaves, fruits, seeds, root, bark, stem, latex are used enormously in various forms of medicine. Leaves, roots and fruits are mostly used but, in some plants, emphasis is placed on considering the use of specific parts.

The following Ksheera Vrukshas are recommended for cleaning teeth in Garuda Purana.

Nyagrodha (Banyan tree – Ficus bengalensis Linn.)

Udumbara (Ficus racemosa – cluster fig, red river fig or gular)

Asvattha (Ficus religiosa – peepul)

Madhooka (Madhuca indica GVDB, p. 295.) – mahuwa, Butter Tree, vippa chettu)

ಕ್ಷೀರ ವೃಕ್ಷ ಎಂದರೇನು?

ಕ್ಷೀರ ಸ್ರವಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಅಥವಾ ಹೊರಸೂಸುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಸ್ಯ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೀರ ವೃಕ್ಷ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕೋಮಲ ಎಲೆಗಳು, ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಎಲೆಗಳು, ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು, ಬೀಜಗಳು, ಬೇರು, ತೊಗಟೆ, ಕಾಂಡ, ಲ್ಯಾಟೆಕ್ಸ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಔಷಧದ ವಿವಿಧ ರೂಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗಾಧವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಎಲೆಗಳು, ಬೇರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಆದರೆ, ಕೆಲವು ಸಸ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲು ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
